U.S. Coast Guard: Polar Guardians

The U.S. Coast Guard hired Silver Fir Media to produce a 30-minute documentary about the history of polar icebreaking ships, and I managed the project as producer, director, and writer.

Producing this film involved shooting 20 interviews with retired sailors and subject-matter experts between the Pacific Northwest, New England, and Washington DC.


Bureau of Land Management: Feathers and Frontiers

The Snake River Birds of Prey Natural Conservation Area in southern Idaho is home to the highest concentration of birds of prey in North America. To commemorate its 25th anniversary, the Bureau of Land Management hired Silver Fir Media to produce this 40-minute documentary on its cultural and natural history. Making this film was a year-long process that included 28 days of filming in different seasons.


Seattle Academy: Open House 2023

Every year since 2017, I have produced the Open House video for Seattle Academy, a private school in the heart of Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. The videos feature a huge variety of student and faculty voices, with the goal of giving the viewer a sense of what it’s like to attend the school.


Moon Landing Memories (finalist in the 2023 NASA CineSpace short film competition)

Out of 290 submissions, “Moon Landing Memories” was selected as one of 11 finalists in the 2023 NASA CineSpace short film competition.

An estimated 650 million people watched the Apollo 11 moon landing on television in July 1969. Each one of them has a story. In this short film, hear from a handful of ordinary people as they remember watching the TV that day.


Fortive: Day of Caring 2023

Fortive is a corporation that operates in a number of sectors, but one thing that unites all of its employees is Day of Caring. All Fortive employees spend one paid work day every year giving back to their communities as a volunteer. This video highlights one Day of Caring event in Long Beach, CA, and then zooms out to show the global scale of Day of Caring, which 20,000 employees participate in. Produced for Red Element Studios.


Seattle Academy: Class of 2023 Graduation videos

As part of Seattle Academy’s graduation ceremony each year, I produce several videos featuring interviews with graduates as they reflect on their time at the school. The project involves interviewing more than 140 high schoolers each year, and editing those interviews down to ~30 minutes of videos to be played at graduation. We’ve been doing this every year since the 2017 graduation.


National Park Service: Cascade Red Fox Survey Volunteering Recruitment

This is the short version of a 9-minute training and volunteer recruitment video produced for the National Park Service. The goal of this video is to reach viewers who may be interested in volunteering to participate in the carnivore scat collection program at Mt. Rainier, which aims to learn more about the carnivores living in the park through genetic sampling of their poop. The study’s carnivore of greatest interest is the Cascade Red Fox, a unique and rare species of fox found only in the Cascade mountain range.

National Park Service: Haunting in the Hills 28th Annual Storytelling Festival

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Obed National Wild & Scenic River in Tennessee was unable to hold its 28th annual Haunting in the Hills Storytelling Festival in-person during Halloween 2020. Instead, we were hired to rapidly film four professional storytellers and turn around two distinct 2-hour films that were played at a drive-thru theater. We captured all of the material for both films in one day, and then turned around the final cuts five days later.

Seattle Academy: Annual Financial Aid Fundraiser videos

Every winter, Seattle Academy holds its “SAAS in the City” gala to raise funds for financial aid. The money raised at this event allows more students from all backgrounds to afford tuition and participate in the full experience of the school. I produce a video for the event each year that aims to communicate the impact of this financial aid program.

This ad ran on television and across the web to raise awareness of the Museum of Flight’s “Destination Moon” Apollo 11 exhibit. As producer, I was involved with creative meetings, and responsible for casting and organizing the crew and production plan.

This video, which regularly aired on KCTS-9 for several months, provides a brief peak into the program and the woman running it.

Global Good and Element have teamed up to streamline healthcare around the globe by developing a new approach to identifying patients who don't carry traditional identification: Scanning their fingerprints, eyes, and other unique biological markers to identify them and track their medical records over their lifetime.
